HOW DO I MAKE MY CHILD A CHAMPION?

There are 4 goals that are realistic, achievable, measurable.

At all stages of progression the Skill level must be linked closely to experience level.

The 4 Goals are : -

Recreation : - Golf is a great recreational sport that can be played with friends and family. Golf is often played during holidays, sometimes it is the reason for the holiday. Golf is played as a wedding day activity.

Club Golf : - It is great to join a club because you can play regularly for your health and networking opportunities

Business Relations : - Many deals are done on the golf course and often hear they are done quicker. Some ability is preferable for this to happen and may even further your career as a result.

US College sponsorship : - Those that find themselves heading for elite golf may find Golf useful in finding a scholarship in U.S.A. which can save you some serious money in tuition fees. To consider a life as a Tour Player you should only consider whether this is achievable from your performnce in College Golf. Potential is no longer valid, as your performance level should be now evident. The level of competition will tell you whether you have what it takes or not.

To go beyond US College/University Golf takes a lot of passion, sacrifice, dedication, obsession, persistence, belief, toms of practice, full time journey of self improvement ( not just golf swing either ).

SHOULD A PARENT BE "PUSHY" OR "SUPPORTIVE" OR LET THEM DO WHAT THEY WANT?

A Parents role is to help their children sample as many experiences as possible, as this will ensure the children get the best from themselves and have the best in benefit return to them in adulthood. A Parent DOES have to be pushy as they will learn motivation from that as well as the experience involved. The Parent DOES have to be supportive so that the child learns to enjoy the experience ( this enhances the learning process at a neural level ). The Parent SHOULD NOT "Let them do what they want"  As they can only "want" what they have experienced or been exposed to. Kids will always lean more towards being comfortable which may mean staying at home watching TV and waiting for their parents to play with them.
