THE RIGHT CLASS FOR YOUR JUNIOR GOLFER

The Junior Golf Term program divides students into 4 catagories :

GAMES : Australian sports commission has developed many sports programmes that include golf. Games have been catagorised to develop a skills set related to specific sports, such as GOLF. For those that are starting out you can learn this basic and general skills  at your own pace. Some games are incorporated into skills classes.

SKILLS : specific skills are required to play golf ( Hitting, chipping, pitching, putting ) which each have their own uninque technical values which can be developed quickly during our Junior golf classes. Classes will include an introduction to playing

PLAYERS : Once the skills have been developed. Some exposure to on course experience will lead to being able to score while playing golf. This level will include classes, mini comps and members comps

TOURNAMENTS : Junior golfers can easliy move on to Junior tournaments once they have sufficiently experienced playing oncourse and sampling competitions. JNJG has a full calendar of tournaments. Other tournaments to consider will be state wide Vardon and Derring events which may be 1,2 or 4 days.

All Classes above run for one hour and have a maximum of 8 students. Each level is a simple precursor to the next. Coaching ability is competant to serve golfers in any level of golfing skill and experience.

BELOW ARE CLASSES THAT HAVE BEEN CONDUCTED AT SYDNEY OLYMPIC PARK AND MOORE PARK AND MAY BE UTILISED INTO THE FUTURE AT WOLLONGONG GOLF CLUB GOLF ACADEMY. ALL FOLLOWING CLASSES ARE CURRENTLY INCORPORATED INTO GAMES / SKILLS / PLAYERS / TOURNAMENTS

Peewees is aimed at the youngest golfers, aged 3 to 5 years. Through fun and enjoyable golf games, they’ll learn basic skills and get to interact with other children of a similar age group who are also new to golf.

Foxes is aimed at the junior golfer aged 6 to 10 years old. It is specifically designed to create confident young golfers and encourage them to see golf as a life-long sport. Each Junior will learn the basics in a relaxed and fun environment with a strong emphasis on interactive learning through target based games.

Eagles is designed to sharpen skills and broaden the child’s golf knowledge. The thinking and planning of the game is introduced. Learning rules and etiquette on the course whilst improving their ball striking skills is paramount to the learning phase once basic skills have been achieved.

Bears will learn to put all their shots to work. Video and more in depth technique will be applied and tested regularly. Pre-shot routines will be introduced with an overall focus on preparing for on-course golf. Juniors will have a sound knowledge of each aspect of the game and learning to apply this knowledge to the course is the objective.

Sharks take your learned skills onto the course and see what happens when you use these skills. There will be aspects to learn of rules and etiquette without the pressure of competition or tournament setting. Sharks can play all long and short shots in their skill set. A Maturity level must be evident to be capable of understanding etiquette as they will be sharing the golf course with other public players.

Tigers begin scoring regularly over 9 holes starting in modified length and modified rules setting. You will learn how to keep simple stats and learn how to assess you strength and weakness from that. The course they play is lengthened as they improve their skills and perform a qualifying score. A practice routine is introduced to Tigers at this stage as it is helpful to be practicing specific skills at this stage. Private lessons are introduced at this time as well.

Cadets  play a 9 hole competition from yellow tees and recording stats. They are guided through a practice routine before they head onto the course.

Junior Elite will assist in your progress until you are playing golf on your own. You’ll follow a proper practice routine, followed by 9 holes of golf from social tees. Your statistics will be recorded to help you monitor and track your progress.
